I would love to follow my internship in the UK actually. I haven't done an internship for my study yet, but when I have to I would definetely go for an internship abroad. I always liked England when I was there on holidays. Also my English is good actually so an internship in the UK would just be perfect.

Also some of my friends are living in Londen now for some time and if they tell me there stories I really can't wait to go there. I love the people there and the culture, so living there for some time would be awesome. Can't wait to go there!

What type of internship are you looking for. What is your degree? Did you know that L'Oreal offers internship in Paris?  it is not very likely that you will get an internship  at  l'oreal due to the competition.

If you work for a multinational company, salaries are the same than in Europe and even if you don't and you work for an Indian company and you take a lower pay, the cost of life there is so low that you can live as a prince, even if you take what here would be considered a very low salary!

It wouldn't be a bad idea! Thare are such great opportunities there!

I've never thought about India as a country where apply for an internship, but it would be great!I've never been there, and I know a few things about it, but it would be an incredible opportunity!!can someone give me more information about which are the most requested fields in which apply for an internship in India? Anyway, another country in which I'd like to apply for an internship abroad, would be the USA..I went there one time, and I fell in love with it!even if there're a lot of contradictions, as everybody know, I think that for young people there're a lot of internship opportunities, that can prepare you to live international job experiences. So we'll see..maybe the next time I'll write a post about my experience with an Internship in the US!

Mmh...I don't think so...

Maybe some French Multinationals that have their branch offices there look for French people, but you have to know English anyway!

I think that Uk is the best place to pursue an internship, because there you can improve your English very well!

That's true...in UK you can learn the "official english".

English in India is a legacy from the British who colonized the country and their language permeated through the most important part of society:  the government, the media, the education system, the legal system and gradually the social sphere as well. India is a vast nation and in terms of number of English speakers, it ranks third after USA and the UK. Anyway, I remember that it was very difficult to understand their accent.

So, that's true Costanza, only in UK you can actually improve your english because you learn the real, "official" english.

Yes Costanza, I love London as well!

Actually I'm agree with Seal...there aren't a lot of internship opportunities in London. Probably you can find a job as a waiter or shop assistant and try to live there for a few months, but in this case you can't reach the internship certificate. Social experience would be great but you don't have to forget the others skills that you can learn only working inside the company.

Actually I found only one perfect solution in London or UK in general, it's called studios92. Guys, try to have a look in www.internship-uk.com and tell me what do you think about it!

I would love to led an internsip in the USA. Right now I am following an internship in the UK, but if I had the chance I would go to the USA. I once been on holiday in New York and from that moment I wanted to be there more often. So an internship would be the best way to do that.

I would like to do an internship in Australia or America. I don't mind to be far from home and I think it will be a great challenge. The experience will be so different than when you're close to home. If you're far away it really comes to yourself, you have to solve everything on your own and that would be crazy first. But I think it's also good for me, it will help me grow. Australia is a very cool country and there is so much to see and the same is for America. I think there are enough companies where I can learn a lot. The countries are so big, so that must be possible!

I don't want to do an internship abroad, cause I wanted to live in Holland the rest of my life. Besides that there aren't much internships offered in this sector. My upcoming internships are not that long so it will be difficult to adapt and really learn something in that time. My next internship will be only for 3 days and 2 days school, so going abroad won't be possible at all...

I would go to AUSTRALIA and then in particularly SYDNEY Laughing. If that is not possible I would go to AMERICA to NEW YORK, loving it Innocent

I agree, really want to go to America and off course to New York! Been there once and really want to go back there!

I applied for an internship in New York, unfortunately my English wasn't good enough and I wasn't hired. Bit weird to do my internship in England know Wink I definitely want to see New York, but not during an internship anymore.

NYC offers a lot of opportunities for internship..don't discourage yourself!Smile

Do they? I think it is hard to get an internship there when you are from a foreign county.....

Actually I agree with Jess! Lately I found a lot of opportunities there...but mostly in companies from my country but situated in NYC. For examples RAI, or the Italian Commerce Chamber...

it's not that I give up after one turndown. But I only have 1 more internship and I want to do that in Holland, so I will visit New York just as a tourist.

Lately I saw some internship in LA and Miami and I thought...wow!But than I considered that my employer, or the selector, could think I'm not a serious person. Los Angeles and Miami are awesome and people sometimes choose this kind of internship not for a real interest in the company but just to try to be in holyday for a longer period. Actually, I think it's a good idea but I'm not so sure that for the selector is the same..

I am not sure if they think like that... I mean if they do, they wouldn't ask for interns, would they? If you just give a good cv and letter and make clear why you want to do an internship I think they will hire you. Just show the reason and make clear that it won't be a holiday for you.

Don't forget that if you do nothing at your internship in places like Miami or LA your school wouldn't be too happy with it. Maybe they won't accept the internship. But if your school accepts it and you do a good internship then you can put it on your CV and I think the company you will work for in the future will look at that too. They will ask you what you've done there and all. If school has approved it, also on the end, it will also count for something.

I don't think you should really worry about it. If they expect that everyone who wants to work for a company in LA or Miami is looking for a nice holiday I think they're not able to hire anyone. And they wouldn't ask for interns if they thought they won't get serious candidates.
I don't think either that your future employee would care. As long as he can see that you've done something and learned it will be ok.

When you worry about something like that, you really should think about doing an internship in your own country. Don't forget that they can think you took a long holiday if you go somewhere else... Even when you go to London it can be seen as a long holiday.

For me also. I also would like to find a company where I might be able to work after my internship. It would be nice if I did my internship well enough that I can stay there. That's also a reason for me to find one in my own country instead of abroad.

It is not feeling so good without my family around me, if it is just one or two years, it okey, but if I got a job abroad, that could be 5 years, I cannot bear it.

No I don't think that I want to do my next internship in Spain as well, although I had a wonderfull time there!

But the question was where do you want to follow an internship and not where do you want to follow your NEXT internship.. So that is why I said Spain! But I want to go too so many different countries as well, but I can really recommend Spain for your internship.

If I ever have to go abroad, I will go to Brasilia. But I rather stay in Holland and go there for a holiday.

I have the same with Australia. I would love to go there, but I rather write my essay in Holland. It's nice to go there on holiday, no problem with that!!

Cool! Brasil would be quite an adventure I think.

Yes I asked if I could do my graduation report there, but school didn't approved it. So unfortunately I can't go there then next year. But when I got the chance I will go there for holiday, maybe next year after school with my sister.

I still would say United Kingdom, but I don't have to do an internship anymore.

If I had to I want to go here or stay in my own country.

Wasn't it possible to do an internship in the UK before?

Well my school decided where I had to do my internship and they choosed the company already for me. So it wasn't really possible to do my internship in the UK!

Too bad that you weren't able to give in your own opinion.
Hopefully you liked it anyway :-)

it would be great to work in a hospital in a third world country, but I don't think I will be up to that. Maybe I will work there for some time later, but my internships I prefer to do in Holland.

Isn't it also easier to do your internship in Holland, just when it comes to language? Don't know how your study is, so maybe there is no problem abroad.

France souns good too. I can speak the language, so that's a plus. Of course I can speak English too, so that's not a problem either, Spain would give more problems!

Then it is indeed not a very good idea to go to French...

yeah, for me France would be a good choice! It is very close to Italy (my country) and the fashion sector (where I would like to work) is very developed...But first, you have to know very well English, so it's why I decided to do firstly my internship in the Uk!
