Internship
Whenever you leave your beloved home to see the world (whether for an international internship, university or a new job you will probably share a flat with other people to safe money and to find new friends. I remember the first year when I was in London, I often told my classmates what a school residence was like in China. Have you got such kind of experience that six people lived in one room? You may think it is crazy, but it is an unforgettable experience.
I had been living with five other girls in one room for 4 years. We were classmates in Harbin University of Commerce in China. We got up together, had breakfast together, went to the classroom together, sometimes we went to the bar, went shopping, we cut our hair at the same time.
When we were happy, we sang a happy song; when we were blue, we sang a crazy song. It is a fact that during those 4 years, we almost spent 3.5 years together.
I am sharing a flat with 4 people in London. Flat share is different from dormitory. People who live in dorms usually do not know each other before. In addition, they may have no time to get along with each other. Therefore, I think, there are several aspects should be noticed by people who want to share a flat.
First, try to make the public place clean and tidy; do not bother your flat mates with your bad habits.
Second, do not forget to clean the kitchen, bathroom, balcony, if you share them with your flat mates, when you are on duty.
Third, if you dislike something on of your flat-mates did by your flat share, try to talk to him/her and make sure you are nice when you talk about the problem.
Fourth, when you top up the electricity and gas, please remember to keep the receipt so that your flat mates are able to see how much they need to give you.
Finally, being tolerant is always a good way to get along with your flat mates.
These tips were gained from my experience in living with my roomates and flat mates.I hope these can help you get your perfect flat share.
