Luca Cordero di Montezemolo was born August 31, 1947 is an Italian businessman and Chairman of Ferrari and Fiat.
He is the younger son of a Piemontese aristocratic, and he has many aristocratic ancestry.
He graduated in 1971 in Law from the University of Rome, later specialising in International Commercial Law at Columbia University in New York.
In 1973 he joined Ferrari as assistant to Enzo Ferrari, then worked as Team Manager for the Ferrari F1 Department between 1974 and 1975.
Throughout the 1980s, Montezemolo occupied a number of positions in the huge FIAT Empire: he was director of the Cinzano drinks company and director of the Itedi publishing company, which includes the Italian newspaper La Stampa.
I From 1985 to 1990 he devoted himself to the world of football as head of Italia ‘90 when Italy hosted the World Cup finals.
At the end of the World Cup, in 1991, FIAT chairman Gianni Agnelli made Montezemolo president of Ferrari and under his guide, it won several World Championship: in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2007.
Between 2001 and 2004, he was also Chairman of the Italian Federation of Newspaper Publishers (FIEG). His current positions include Chairman of the Bologna International Trade Fair Body.
On May 27, 2004, Montezemolo became president of Italian business lobby Confindustria.
