The Social Survey Institute of China (SSIC) designed a questionnaire in February of 2009. The investigation was conducted in 11 cities in China which are; Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Shi Jiazhuang, Zhengzhou, Chendu, Shenyang, Wuhan, Xiamen, Harbin and Xian. The institute chose a sample of 1000 graduates of 2009 and conducted the surveys by telephone. The result shows that the graduates of 2009 has a 35.6% employment rate.
According to Dongmin Li, the director of SSIC, only 27.4% of the employed graduates content with their current jobs while 37.6% of the employed graduates complained about their current jobs.
The reason why the graduates discontent with their current jobs are mainly concerned with three aspects: the content of the job, the salary of the job and the communication environment of the job. Li said that this situation reflected the contradiction among the knowledge taught in universities, the majors set up by universities and the social demands. To those students who discontent with the communications, they should enhance their communicating skills.
